Some Celtic fans are fuming at the comments made by manager Neil Lennon following their disappointing defeat on Sunday.

The Hoops lost their second game of the season on Sunday, as their rivals picked up a rather deserved 2-1 win. Lennon’s men are now only two points ahead of the Gers, who have a game in hand and winning it will allow them to move to the top of the Premiership.

Celtic fans: Does Lennon deserve blame for the loss?

After the game, the club’s Twitter account posted a video of Lennon’s post-match comments. And this has left many Hoops’ fans unhappy. They want the manager to man up and accept that his side were not the better one.

Lennon returned to the club after the exit of Brendan Rodgers last season. The current Leicester City boss left the club at the end of February and it was after it that Lennon came back on an interim basis. At the end of the season, he was appointed as the permanent boss (via BBC).

So far this season, they’ve lost just two Premiership games. Before the Rangers loss, they had lost to Livingston away from home two months ago in the middle of October.

As things stand, the Hoops have scored the highest number of goals in the Premiership. They have found the back of the net 55 times. They have conceded 13 goals, which is the second-best record in the league whereas Rangers currently have the best defensive record.

What do we think?

Lennon did get his selection wrong on Sunday. He played Olivier Ntcham in midfield in the last two or three games. But all of a sudden, he’s changed it to having Mikey Johnston behind the striker. This consistency in selection needs to improve, otherwise Celtic may not win the title come the end of the season.
