Some Celtic fans believe that Tom Rogic can make an unbelievable impact for the side and leaves his best for the domestic cup games for the Hoops.

The attacking midfielder has been involved in only two goals so far this season for Neil Lennon’s side, featuring for them in the Scottish Premiership, League Cup and in the Europa League as well.

Early on in the season, the Australian was dealing with a knee injury that had kept him out till the club’s Premiership game against Hamilton, when he returned to action.

A debate broke out on Twitter and some Bhoys fans believe that he can be an impact player and brings his best in the knockout cup games.

Celtic signed the Australian playmaker from Aussie side Central Coast Mariners in the summer of 2013, as he arrived for a fee of about £400,000 at the tender age of 20.

This season, he has featured nine times in all competitions. He has racked up two goals and just as many assists during this time. Last season, Rogic had played 35 times in all competitions for the Hoops and had a direct hand in 11 goals. But towards the end of the season, the 26-year-old had undergone knee surgery.

In total, Rogic has played 176 times in all competitions for the club. He has racked up a tally of 37 goals and 31 assists. During his time in Glasgow, he has also played often for the Australian national team.

Since his debut in 2012, he has played 44 times for the side from Down Under, scoring eight times and assisting twice.

What do we think?

Rogic comeback to action is a real bonus for Lennon in that attack midfield position. He has been a faithful servant to the club over the years and he is still only 26 and has a lot to give to the club and its fans.

He isn’t exactly a regular yet largely because of the injury troubles he has had, but as the season wears on and games come thick and fast, he will come into the side more than he is now.
