Some Celtic fans can’t stop gushing about their club’s youngster Mikey Johnston after his impressive performance against Ross County recently.
The Hoops maintained their lead at the top of the league after the 4-1 win over County. While Ryan Christie scored a brace and Tom Rogic got a goal of his own, Mikey Johnston also scored a goal of his own (BBC).
This was the young winger’s second goal since he returned to action in the club’s recent win of Rennes in the Europa League. He had also found the back of the net against the French visitors on Thursday (per TransferMarkt).
Some Celtic fans hailing the youngster for his recent performances already.

Frightening how good Mikey Johnston is currently and will only get better. Two games in a row now he’s come on and had an instant impact by scoring a great goal.
Some performance in the end and a difficult place to go too especially in December. #Celtic #COYBIG

Fitness seems to be the only thing that could hold Johnston back. He’s clearly got everything needed to be a great player for Celtic. Just needs to stay fit now to be available for a stretch of first team action.

Johnston is a product of the Hoops’ youth academy and has grown up the pecking order since making his debut in the 2016-17 campaign for the club.
Is Johnston indispensable for Celtic?
Never leave, Mikey!
He isn't!
This season, Johnston has played 12 times in the Premiership for Celtic. He has racked up a tally of five goals and four assists. But the game against Ross County was his first appearance in the league since the Old Firm back in August when he had racked up one assist. He sustained a groin injury after the game.
Last season, the youngster had played 23 times in all competitions for the Bhoys. He had a tally of one goal and five assists. This season, he has already contributed to more goals than he ever did in a single league season.
What do we think?
Johnston, who is valued at £900k (Transfermarkt), is a big prospect for the Hoops. At the age of 20, he has already done more than many other players of his age can do. This season, he seems set to play more than he has ever done.
His versatility makes him an even special prospect and one that, perhaps, makes him a hugely exciting talent that fans will want to see even more of in the future at Celtic Park.
