Aston Villa fans have been calling for Tyrone Mings to be dropped for their next match against Leicester City.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @AVFCchats shared a post on their page asking their followers their opinions on Mings’ recent form.
This post then led to a large number of Villa fans replying with their views on Mings with some even wanting the Englishman to be dropped from the team.
Should Tyrone Mings be dropped for Villa's next game against Leicester?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Villa fans wanting Mings to not play in their upcoming match:
Drop him Sunday for Engels needs to understand he’s not the first name on the team sheet

Mings has been sloppy and Mcginn looks burnt out to me would drop them both for a game freshen the side up.

Not been good after being picked for England. Need a rest as well as McGinn. Start with Engels for Mings and Nakamba for McGinn and push Hourihane forward for Leicester.

The 26-year-old, who is valued at £16.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), has played 90 minutes in all 15 of Villa’s Premier League matches so far this season (per Transfermarkt). He received a rating of 6.34 for his performance against Chelsea, which is less than acceptable, so perhaps a rest would be a sensible idea for the Englishman.
Despite playing so many minutes for the club, some Villa fans have been noticing a drop in quality with Mings’ recent performances.
Massively overrated in my opinion. Not enough urgency. Heading ability is shoddy at best, great leadership/organisational skills but liable to at least 3-4 mistakes per game. Commitment unquestionable. Lots of pros and cons but I’d go with Engels and Konsa and see what happens

Too much stepping off tackles and lack off awareness in recent weeks

Needs to buck his ideas up. Think since he got called up to the England team his form has dropped for some reason

What do we think?
If Villa want to avoid relegation and aim for a top-half finish in their first season back in the Premier League, they will need Mings to fix up his performances and get on a consistent run of good form, but they can’t continue to put up with his below-par performances.
In the coming weeks with there being so many fixtures in the festive season, he needs to improve quickly.
