Aston Villa fans have been fuming on Twitter over the latest performance from striker Wesley in their latest defeat.
This comes after Villa journalist Dan Bardell shared a post on his official page defending the striker for his display in Villa’s 4-1 defeat to Leicester at the weekend.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who did not share the same sentiments as Bardell.
Should Wesley be dropped from the Villa team?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Villa fans slamming Wesley for his latest performance:
Come off it dan, I’ve stuck with him until the last week, it’s like playing with ten men for crying out loud. Touch is awful, no hold up play. Kodjia can’t be any worse.

Get in the bin. You must not be watching this game. Wesley offers nothing for the players. Fans have had enough

Disagree, totally, he is actually not doing anything. I’ve been neutral about him until now, agreed with all the “he needs to settle in, he’s young” views but tbh he has been a waste of 22million. We don’t have time to wait for him to “come good”, he needs to be good now

The striker joined the Birmingham club in the latest summer transfer window from Belgian side Club Brugge for a fee of £22.5 million. In his first season in the Premier League, the Brazilian has only managed to score four goals in 16 appearances for the club (per Transfermarkt).
In his latest appearance against Leicester, Wesley gave the ball away in the build-up for Leicester’s first goal. Now it seems that some Villa fans have had enough of the striker.
Dan! He’s awful. Come on mate, 16 games and zero improvement for me.

Dan, seriously mate?! Wesley has been everywhere as near as bad as anyone has said. He’s like a statue.

Disagree. Headless chicken today, and seems to be struggling more each week. We had the ball in the final third a lot today, and he had support. Always stationary and static. In fact the definition of static.

What do we think?
With Villa at risk of slipping into the relegation zone, Wesley’s lack of goals is now becoming a very serious problem for the club. If Villa can obtain a striker in the upcoming January transfer window that can hit the ground running in terms of goal-scoring, they would be in with a shout of survival, but if not, things could get a whole lot worse.
