Aston Villa fans have been pleading on Twitter for Douglas Luiz to start in their upcoming match against Leicester.
This comes after Villa journalist Ashley Preece shared a post on his official Twitter page debating Villa’s team for their weekend clash with high-flying Leicester.
This post also included an article from the Birmingham Mail going into further detail on Villa boss Dean Smith’s team selection dilemma.
Preece’s post then gathered replies from a number of Villa fans who said they want to see Luiz return to the side against Leicester.

The Brazilian was named as a substitute in Villa’s midweek 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge but made a cameo in the second half. Now as the club look to move on from that defeat and prepare for their next tough match against Leicester, some Villa fans have been calling for Luiz to regain his place in Dean Smith’s starting XI.

If you’re Leicester, they’ll prioritise Jack and suffocating his play, and if they do that, we need a creative alternative which is Conor. For me Douglas does start, but at the expense of Marvelous.

What do we think?
After making a bright albeit short performance against Chelsea, it’s good to see that some Villa fans think Luiz will be the best option to play in midfield against Leicester. But ultimately the decision will fall upon Smith to choose which midfielders will start at the weekend.
