Aston Villa fans have been praising Chris Wilder’s recent comments on the club on Twitter.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport relayed the Sheffield United manager’s quotes originally published by the Yorkshire Post on Villa manager Dean Smith.
Wilder called Smith’s start at Villa as “brilliant”, as the two managers set to come up against each other again on Saturday.
Will Aston Villa beat Sheffield United on Saturday?
Yes
No
This post then led to some Villa fans replying with their appreciation for Wilder’s comments:
Here’s a sample of Villa fans praising Wilder:
Classy comments from a classy guy. Wilder has done a great job at Sheffield Utd, nothing but respect for him (but still hope we beat them!!)

Smith’s Villa side travel to Bramall Lane on Saturday as they aim to pick up three points to move away from the relegation zone. With Wilder’s comments praising Smith and the club, this made some Villa fans come out and show their respect for the Blades boss.
Wilder is manager of the season for me so far, the job he’s done there and doing is incredible, classy comments aswell from him top bloke

What do we think?
It’s great to see some Villa fans showing so much respect to Wilder and not just focusing on beating his team at the weekend. Despite these nice comments, Villa currently sit in 17th place in the league table, so Smith will be praying his team can beat Wilder’s high-flying United team to avoid dropping into the dreaded relegation zone.
Of course, Villa are heading into a period where they’re set to face a number of struggling sides, including Watford, Burnley, Norwich City and Southampton, so it’s a crucial time for the club.
