This comes after the official Villa Twitter account shared a post on their page of footage of Douglas Luiz’s goal-line clearance in the 1-0 victory.

Luiz denied Norwich’s Alex Tettey a goal after he fired a shot towards the Villa goal from a corner. But Luiz managed to put in a great block on the goal-line to get the ball away from danger. This piece of action caught the attention of some Villa fans who were eager to praise the Brazilian for his defensive work.

What do we think?
It was a great piece of defensive work from Luiz to deny Norwich from getting a goal at Villa Park, with his prevention possibly proving crucial in their season. The victory will be a great confidence boost for Villa, but the clean sheet will make the win even sweeter after a run of poor result recently.
