Some Celtic fans can’t stop gushing about Ryan Christie’s performance and feel that he is their most important player this season.

The Hoops remained at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a 4-1 win at Ross County on Sunday, with arch-rivals Rangers now back to being one goal behind Celtic on the table (BBC).

Steven Gerrard’s men picked up a 5-0 win over Hearts at the weekend (BBC), as they kept up the pace with Celtic in the title race.

But Ryan Christie found the back of the net twice for the Hoops in their 4-1 win and the brace came days after his goal against Rennes in the UEFA Europa League recently (TransferMarkt).

And Celtic fans can’t believe how good the £3.38m-rated player is that they have on their hands, with some believing he is worth more in the region of £50m.

Is Ryan Christie Celtic's most important player?

Not even a question!

Celtic signed Christie in the summer of 2015 from Inverness for a fee of £500,000. Since then, the Scot has only grown in the Hoops’ pecking order, increasing in importance.

He has been instrumental to the club’s performances in all competitions this season. The midfielder has featured 27 times in all competitions, scoring 15 times and assisting ten times during this time.

This is already an improvement from his numbers from last season when he featured 38 times in all competitions and racked up 11 goals and has nine assists to his name too.

The 2017-18 campaign saw him get loaned out to Aberdeen, where the then 21-year-old scored four times and assisted ten times in a total of 28 league appearances for the club.

What do we think?

This season, Christie has been Celtic’s most productive player in terms of his involvement in goals. He has scored more goals than anyone else and also has more assists than any other player in the side.

At the age of 24, he has shown immense improvement since he joined and he seems ready for a big move- like Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele did. As the season wears on, he will setup bigger challenges for him to go past next season.
