Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have fumed over the constant targetting of Adama Traore following a Tweet posted by Tim Spiers.
In Sunday’s clash between the Old Gold and Tottenham Hotspur, three of Jose Mourinho’s players went into the book for fouls on the Spaniard, which the Athletic journalist, Spiers, was on hand to share with supporters (as per Tim Spiers).
Following the post, supporters took their opportunity to air their frustration over the consistent targeting of their unstoppable wide man.
Traore fouled. Kane booked. Third Spurs player this game. Traore just keeps on getting up and going again.
Disgraceful treatment of him this season.

They have to start sending players of for cynically taking out players. And kane yellow & then dissent towards ref is another yellow but we know this ref has his favourites..

I can’t understand why referees don’t start using reds for these incidents, especially when the offending player has chased the player down and then fouled him with no chance of getting the ball. Xhaka got sent off for it last year…. This behaviour is ruining the game.

Disgraceful treatment by his teammates too. Bad enough the ref wouldn’t support him…Worse still his teammates wouldn’t when he finally succumbed to pain. Just kick the ball out and we draw. But we let him lie there in injury time.A complete dereliction of duty – & Spurs win.

Should sin bins be introduced to football to stop fouling like Adama Traore suffered against Spurs?
Yes, something needs to be done
No, it is not really a problem yet
So far this term, Nuno Espirito Santo’s star attacker has four goals and six assists in 26 outings for the Old Gold across all competitions (as per Transfermarkt).
It is this consistent return as well as his lightning pace which make Traore a target for tactical fouls and consistent dodgy challenges, which the Molineux faithful had seen enough of.
Where is the protection from the refs? He’s beeing floored over and over again!

At some point constant fouls like this have to become ejectable! Same foul on same player over and over.

Couldn’t believe what I was seeing. If they win then we can take it. This time though they didn’t deserve it. Traore just keeps getting back up. Amazing player!

You can handle it if they were going for the ball, but all of them went to take him out. At what point is it deemed safe to kick him like that. They were all reckless challenges

What do we think?
As many supporters have stated, the constant targeting of the Spaniard will become dangerous sooner or later, if it is not already.
Tactical fouls are becoming a staple of the game, but with Traore, it goes a step further than that, it is not bringing any man who is starting a counter-attack down, it is specifically bringing Traore down when he gets going and it needs to be stopped somehow by officials.
