Former England striker Darren Bent cannot believe Diogo Jota is still a Wolves player and is surprised a bigger club have not yet come in for his signature.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Bent revealed he often wondered why the likes of Jota were still at Molineux.

“When I play Football Manager he’s always one of the first players I sign as to me he is absolutely brilliant,” Bent said.

“It has surprised me no one has come and got him.”

Is Diogo Jota one of the Premier League's finest wingers?

“There’s about three or four players in that Wolves team where you think how are they still at Wolves? And Jota is right at the top of that list, as he is quick, dynamic, he scores goals.”

“He’s a good finisher, scores a lot of headers considering how tall he is and he is a top-quality player. Also it shows what a great job Nuno is doing down there to be able to hold on to these players.”

TIF Tactics – An incredible piece of business

Jota has been incredibly consistent for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side scoring nine goals and providing five assists so far this season.

At just 23-years-old, he has a bright future ahead of him and according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, he’s already valued at £31.5m.

Signed from Atletico Madrid for £12.6m in 2018, the Portuguese international has become an integral part of a Wolves team who currently occupy 8th place in the Premier League and will take on Espanyol in the knockout stages of this seasons Europa League.

Bent may be shocked by the fact nobody has come in for the winger yet but you get the feeling it won’t be long before somebody decides to test the club’s resolve.
