Spurs fans are concerned that Jose Mourinho may well make a move for Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic after the Serbian refused to rule out a move to North London in a recent interview.
In an interview with Sporf x Omnisport, Matic discussed a possible reunion with Mourinho in the January transfer window, saying: “In the future, we will see what happens.”
The 31-year-old midfielder was signed by Mourinho during his time at United but has found himself out of the side since the Portuguese manager’s sacking in December 2018.
Mourinho is now, of course, in charge of Spurs and with Matic having made just seven appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side so far this season, rumours of a move to the North London club have been rife. The Serbian international would certainly bring a lot of experience to Mourinho’s midfield, although it is difficult to see him playing alongside fellow defensive-midfielder Eric Dier, whom the 56-year-old manager is reportedly a big fan of, having tried to sign him during his time at United.
Would Matic be a good signing for Spurs?

These Spurs fans are clearly not interested in signing Matic and will be hoping that Mourinho avoids a reunion with the former Chelsea man in January.
What do we think?
Matic is currently valued at £18 million but is seemingly surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, so Mourinho could easily bring him in on a cut-price deal as a short-term option in January. However, Spurs’ midfield is already quite well-stocked, so you would imagine that defensive signings are the priority for the Portuguese boss.
