Spurs fans were delighted to hear that reported transfer target Zeki Celik has confirmed his interest in playing in the Premier League.
Celik told Turkish news outlet TRT Spor (via Ricky Sacks), that it is his dream to play in England’s top division and that he has already begun to learn English in that hope that it will help him achieve that. Spurs have been linked with the Lille right-back, who is well-known to assistant manager Joao Sacramento after his spell with the club.
The 22-year-old right-back has been a regular in the Lille side since joining from Istanbulspor in 2018; making 56 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit in his first two seasons with the club. His performances have attracted the attention of Spurs, who may well be eyeing up the Turkish international as potential competition for current right-back Serge Aurier.
Would Celik replace Aurier in the Spurs starting line-up?

He’s a good player if true as you know what the media is like.

These Spurs fans are less keen on the potential signing of Celik however, suggesting the club can do better than the 22-year-old.
He didn’t look all that against Chelsea the other week. I’m sure we can do better than that!!

Would rather Pereira but would get him as a backup to Pereira. Would then have to ship off KWP if we buy two RB’s and KWP is v promising

It seems as if the majority of Spurs fans are keen on the potential signing of Celik and would welcome the Turkish international if he made the move to North London.
What do we think?
Celik has been unable to match the level of performances from last season so far this campaign; averaging just a 6.58 rating for the Ligue 1 side. The 22-year-old is valued at £13.5 million so wouldn’t be too expensive and could provide excellent back-up to Aurier at right-back.
