Spurs fans were full of praise for Tanguy Ndombele after the midfielder’s impressive performance in Spurs’ 2-2 draw with Norwich on Saturday.
A post from LastWordonSpurs highlighted some of the 23-year-old’s best statistics from the match against Daniel Farke’s side; including a 91% pass accuracy and an impressive ratio of completed take-ons. It was the Frenchman’s first 90 minutes under Jose Mourinho and the midfielder will surely have put himself in contention for another start against Southampton on New Year’s Day, earning a 7.24 rating for his excellent performance.
Ndombele joined Spurs in a club-record deal over the summer but has thus far struggled to establish himself in the starting eleven under both Mauricio Pochettino and Mourinho. A combination of injury and an apparent lack of fitness have meant that the former Lyon man has had to impress from the bench, so he will surely be glad to finally get a full match under his belt in the Premier League.
Should Ndombele start against Southampton?

This guy is levels above any of our midfield I wanna see starting all the time!! Get a solid CDM behind him and he will pull strings for us in the middle of the park. Absolute baller!

Need to get him fully fit asap

Of what I saw of him today I like him. Its first full 90 minutes and he made mistakes but we can’t forget that he is still getting fit but once hes fully fit we are going to have a great player on our hands

Easily our best player today, and clearly fit enough as still going strong in the 96th minute – so that criticism can be put to bed

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed Ndombele’s performance against Norwich and many will be hoping to see him start again at St Mary’s in their next game.
What do we think?
Ndombele looked really impressive at times against Norwich but still looks to be a little off the speed of the Premier League. Once he is fully fit, then surely the £58.5 million man will be able to establish himself as a first-team regular under Mourinho.
