Spurs fans are less than impressed to hear that a potential move for Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has been given a huge boost, with United willing to let the Serbian leave for less than £15 million.
According to BR Football (via Daily Hotspur), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking the move the out-of-favour midfielder on in the January transfer window and would potentially accept offers under £15 million. Mourinho is said to be a big fan of Matic, having signed him from Chelsea during his tenure at United and could bring him in to help stabilise his new Spurs squad in January.
The 31-year-old has struggled for game time under Solskjaer; making just five appearances all season and could be set to be reunited with his former manager in the upcoming window. Mourinho certainly favours a strong defensive-minded player in his midfield and Matic could well be an experienced, relatively cheap option for the Portuguese boss.
Would Matic be a good signing for Spurs?

If he can’t get in the United team why is he good enough to get in to ours???

Goodness me … Our midfield is weak already with zero mobility ! Really don’t need this in my life

I wouldn’t take him for free

That will be Jose’s 2nd mistake as our manager Matic will slow us down and does not fit our style of play he is a side to side merchant hd is finished and if he wasn’t Utd wouldn’t let him go

That would be painful.
And not a transfer that would make any sense tbh.

These Spurs fans are clearly not impressed with the link with Matic and seem desperate for Mourinho to not sign the 31-year-old in January.
What do we think?
You suspect that although Matic isn’t currently getting into the United side, he is clearly favoured by Mourinho so could stand a very good chance of competing for a starting place with Eric Dier.
As a short-term option, he might just be exactly what Spurs need and if he is available for around £10 million then it would not be surprising to see Mourinho bring him back to London.
