Spurs fans believe 17-year-old Troy Parrott is the man to fill the club’s back-up striker void after Jose Mourinho revealed that he is targeting a new back-up striker in the January transfer window.
According to the Telegraph (via HotspurRelated), the new Spurs boss is prioritising defensive additions and a back-up striker to Harry Kane in the upcoming transfer window, which has left many Spurs fans frustrated with the future of youth team star Troy Parrott. The Republic of Ireland international has seriously caught the eye of fans following a superb start to the season, including a four-goal haul in the UEFA Youth League demolition of Red Star Belgrade.
His performances with the youth team were enough to see Parrott earn a call-up to Mick McCarthy’s Republic of Ireland side and he made his debut for them in a 3-1 win over New Zealand last month. However, the 17-year-old is yet to feature under Mourinho in his three games in charge so far.
Should Mourinho bring in a back-up striker in January?

Spurs fans are seemingly split between wanting Parrott to be the back-up to Harry Kane and wanting to see him go out on loan in order to aid his development.
What do we think?
Parrott is still only 17 and although he has been in excellent form for the various youth sides all season, perhaps a loan to the Championship in January could be the best option for both Parrott and Mourinho.
