Spurs fans were full of praise for youngster Troy Parrott after he added another two goals to his season tally with a brace against Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup on Monday evening.

The 17-year-old striker, who made his senior debut earlier in the season in the Carabao Cup game against Colchester, added to the eight goals he already had for the season with a double for John McDermott’s Under-18 side. Parrott recently made his senior debut for the Republic of Ireland in their 3-1 friendly win over New Zealand, but the youngster is yet to feature under Jose Mourinho.

Lots of Spurs fans feel as if Parrott’s performances with the youth team warrant a call-up to the first-team, where he would presumably act as back-up for Harry Kane and we may well begin to see more of the youngster after yet another impressive display on Monday night.

Reaction from Spurs fans to Parrott’s latest goalscoring exploits can be seen in the tweets below.

One fan even begged Daniel Levy to keep hold of the youngster, which could be down to the reported interest from Europe in the promising attacker. Daniel Levy hasn’t exactly done a very good job of getting the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen to commit their futures, so he may struggle to persuade Parrott to stay at the club – especially if Jose Mourinho continues to leave him out of the first-team squad.

Spurs fans were clearly impressed with Parrott’s latest display and will be hoping to see more of the 17-year-old in the near future.

What do we think?

Parrott has shown in his performances this season that he is perhaps too good to be playing at youth level and deserves a chance in the first team. With the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich reportedly interested in the youngster, Mourinho may be forced to give him more action in the first-team if he hopes to keep hold of the talented 17-year-old.
