Spurs fans seem very keen on signing former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko after it was revealed that Jose Mourinho is hoping to sign the Roma forward in January as cover for Harry Kane.

According to the Daily Mirror (via DailyHotspur), Mourinho is taken a close interest in the Bosnian forward and could sign him in the upcoming transfer window as cover for star striker Harry Kane. The 33-year-old has eight goals for Roma so far this season and would provide an alternative striking option to Kane, with 17-year-old Troy Parrott perhaps deemed too young to be a regular back-up to the England captain.

Since leaving Manchester City in 2015, Dzeko has been prolific for the Italian giants; with 95 goals in 198 games in his four years with the club. Currently valued at £12.6 million, the Bosnian could be the ideal short-term signing to help push Spurs back up into Champions League contention, should he favour a return to the Premier League.

These Spurs fans are clearly keen on signing Dzeko as back-up to Kane but many remain sceptical about whether he would want to join the club.

What do we think?

Dzeko’s goal record with both Manchester City and Roma speaks for itself and the 33-year-old would bring valuable experience to Mourinho’s squad should he be signed. If Spurs can negotiate a fee of under £15 million then he looks to be an excellent short-term option for the North London club.
