Spurs fans were treated to the news this week that the club are interested in signing Norwich defender Ben Godfrey in January and many fans seem to be very excited about the prospect.
According to Football Insider, new Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is very keen on signing the England Under-21 international in January but may have to spend around £25 million if he wants to secure his services. The youngster seriously impressed in Norwich’s promotion-winning campaign last season and has continued to star in Daniel Farke’s side in the Premier League.
Godfrey only really established himself in the Canaries defence in the second half of last season but has gone from strength to strength ever since and it now seems as if Spurs will make a bid for the 21-year-old in the upcoming transfer window. Despite the centre-back having played just 57 games for Norwich, he looks to have adapted to the Premier League well and looks the ideal signing for Mourinho’s struggling defence.

These Spurs fans are clearly keen on signing Godfrey for Spurs and would love to see Mourinho bid for the youngster in January.
What do we think?
Godfrey has played in every game for Norwich so far this season, as well as appearing twice for England Under-21s, so has plenty of experience despite his age.
Of course, spending £25 million on a player who is yet to finish his first season in the top-flight may be a risk, but there’s no doubting his potential.
