Spurs fans were relieved to hear this week that the transfer rumour linking Jose Mourinho’s side with former Manchester United and Everton man Marouane Fellaini are reportedly false.
According to Standard Sport (via Ricky Sacks), Spurs are not interested in the 32-year-old midfielder contrary to the reports stating Jose Mourinho was looking to be reunited with the Belgian. The Portuguese boss worked with Fellaini during his time at United, but after 22 goals in 177 appearances, he was sold to Chinese side Shandong Luneng in February this year.
It was suggested that Mourinho wanted to bring him back to the Premier League in January but a move for the £8.55 million rated man now seems unlikely. Fellaini would presumably have been a back-up option for Harry Kane to provide an alternative tactical option for Mourinho but fans were not keen on the Shandong midfielder.
Is Fellaini not signing good news for Spurs fans?

Because we don’t! He won’t contribute with anything. He WAS good at Everton, that’s long time ago.

These Spurs fans are clearly delighted to hear that the club are not pursuing Fellaini with many feeling that he wasn’t good enough to return to the Premier League.
What do we think?
Although it may be a relief to be a lot of Spurs fans, Fellaini would have offered a different option to Mourinho and wouldn’t have been the worst short-term option. Perhaps this suggests that 17-year-old Troy Parrott will begin to see more first-team game time with Spurs still perhaps lacking a senior back-up to Kane.
