Spurs fans were less than impressed to hear that Erik Lamela is still struggling with injury and will miss the weekend game against Chelsea.

The club provided an injury update on Friday afternoon and it seems as if the hamstring injury suffered by Lamela is still preventing him from training with the rest of the squad. The Argentine winger started the season in decent form under Mauricio Pochettino, but has been missing since the 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in October.

The 27-year-old, who signed for Spurs from Roma in 2013 has never really enjoyed a strong run in the side; making just 200 appearances in nearly seven years with the club. The Argentine has suffered a succession of injuries in his Spurs career; including a hip injury which kept him out for 57 games in 2016 and it seems as if his latest setback is frustrating Spurs fans even further.

Should Mourinho sell Lamela in January?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest injury update on Lamela can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans are clearly not happy that Lamela is still out with his injury and feel that Mourinho should try and sell the 27-year-old in January.

What do we think?

Mourinho recently revealed that he thought Lamela could be a big player for him if he does ever return from injury. However, most fans seem to be of the opinion that the Portuguese manager should move the £19.8 million rated man on in the upcoming transfer window and his injury record suggests that might just be the best option.
