Spurs fans were delighted to hear this week that Erik Lamela has finally returned to training after a hamstring injury.
The Argentinian winger has endured a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during the 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in October. The 27-year-old impressed under Mauricio Pochettino at the start of the season; averaging a 6.94 rating but once again came unstuck thanks to an injury which has kept him out for around two months.
Lamela, who signed for Spurs from Roma in 2013, has regularly struggled with injury in his six years with the club, meaning he has never really enjoyed a strong run in the team. However, with the club confirming on Monday that he had returned to training, Spurs fans will be hoping that he can impress Jose Mourinho and get a run of games in the Portuguese manager’s side.
Does Lamela deserve another chance in the first team?

The sooner he’s back the sooner he can get injured again. Exciting times ahead!

These Spurs fans are clearly delighted to see Lamela back in training and will be hoping to see him return to the side in due course.
What do we think?
Lamela started the season really well so it will be interesting to see if he can rediscover his form under Mourinho once he is fully fit. The 27-year-old is valued at £19.8 million and you suspect that if he cannot impress his new manager in the next month, he could well be sold in the January transfer window in order to raise funds.
