Spurs fans have been full of praise for Dele Alli after the midfielder made it three man-of-the-match displays out of three games under Jose Mourinho after the weekend win over Bournemouth.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who signed from MK Dons in 2015, was instrumental in the 3-2 victory and added another two goals to his tally for the season. Alli had struggled to find form under Mauricio Pochettino following a pre-season hamstring injury that kept him out of the side, but the England international has been superb under Mourinho so far.
Following impressive displays against West Ham and Olympiakos, Alli added another two goals against the Cherries; meaning he now has four goal contributions in three games under the new manager.
Mourinho discussed a recent tactical change which could be the reason behind Alli’s upturn in form in his post-match interview, saying: “For me, Dele Alli is not a midfielder. He needs to be playing where he is, right behind Harry Kane”, from Football Daily (via LastWordonSpurs).
Has Dele Alli been Spurs' best player under Mourinho?

Absolutely agree with him on Dele’s role/position. That’s where he made his name. Playing him further back doesn’t work

Just proves how bad Poch is

Poch got a lot wrong & playing key players out of position was one of them!
Its why I wanted Poch gone. Mourinho has got more from Alli in 3 games then Poch did in all 2019!
Our players look fitter as well. Again, IMO Poch got it wrong on the training ground overworking them

He gets it. Finally.

Spurs fans are clearly delighted with Alli’s recent form under Mourinho and will be hoping to see more impressive performances from the 23-year-old throughout the festive period.
What do we think?
Mourinho has completely transformed Alli’s recent form; with the 23-year-old earning a 9.58 rating for his display against Eddie Howe’s side. The England international has a very impressive record for the North London club; with 58 goals in his first 197 games for the club and at just 23 he looks to have a very bright future ahead of him.
