Some Southampton fans have been left fuming after the club’s social media account posted a tweet following their recent 1-0 loss at the hands of West Ham United (BBC).
The Saints endured their second loss in a row at the weekend, days after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle last weekend. It was a Sebastien Haller goal that made the difference against the Hammers.
The Saints had beaten Norwich City and Watford before the Newcastle defeat, but they are now back into the dreaded relegation zone.
Southampton fans: Can you stay up this season?
No doubt about it
No chance we stay up
And a tweet that the Saints fans sent out after the game has left the club’s fans baffled. They can’t stop bashing it.
No money in Jan either! WE MARCH ON-TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!

Saints were shocking last night. Don’t deserve to stay up playing like that.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men are under immense pressure. They are now 18th in the Premier League and with a crunch period in the season coming up, it isn’t easy to get points when games come thick and fast.
The game against West Ham saw Danny Ings hit the post once, but his goalscoring run of scoring five times in just as many games has been cut short. So far this season, he has scored nine times in the Premier League.
Former Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu played in defensive midfield, winning three aerial duels and completing one tackle. He also made two interceptions, having a passing percentage of 73%.
As per WhoScored, Cedric Soares had the best rating in the game. The Portuguese won five aerial duels, winning three tackles during the game. He made as many as five clearances, playing two key passes in the game.
What do we think?
The Saints are in a tough spot currently. The Aston Villa game could well prove to be a big relegated six-pointer, in the long run. Villa could well end up being around the bottom five and Southampton have to beat the teams around them, like they beat Norwich and Watford. A win over Dean Smith’s men could be huge.
