Despite having such a positive start to the season, Sheffield United couldn’t beat Newcastle this week in the Premier League. In what should have been one of their easier matches, the Blades lost 2-0 to Steve Bruce’s side.
But Sheffield United fans aren’t willing to accept the defeat and move on. They have serious concerns to bring up after the shock result. They mainly point the finger at the manager, Chris Wilder. He got the team selection horribly wrong in their eyes. They don’t think the club can afford to rest players.
We could have played 3 games and not scored! Don’t like to criticise CW but I think he got it wrong tonight by changing the team. These are the games that we need to win much more than a point away at Wolves.

First time in a long time that Wilder has got it wrong, can’t afford to be resting our best players in the premier league if they’re fit and ready #twitterblades

Btw Wilder has got team selection wrong today. Simple as that

Not Good Enough. Worst performance of season by far. Wilder got it wrong with benching Mousset and McGoldrick. On good news back to full strength Sunday Lundstram, Fleck and Baldock all escape 5th yellow and will be available for Sunday.

Is Chris Wilder to blame for Sheffield United's loss to Newcastle?
Yes
No
One fan thinks Wilder’s selection was based on the assumption that Sheffield would score the first goal. As soon as they conceded, his back was against the wall. Another fan thinks it’s the worst Sheffield United performance he has seen in three years.
I think Wilder gambled on them not scoring first. Once they did, it was ten men behind the ball, lots of huff and puff from us and some good goalkeeping from them. We struggle to break teams like that down. Hopefully learn from this and push on.#sufc #utb #TwitterBlades#ShuNew

Worst game I’ve seen from us for about 3 years.

What do we think?
Wilder has done a magnificent job at Sheffield United. To be in the position he is with a newly promoted team is incredible. However, while fans are upset with the loss, it just shows the standards that Wilder has set at the club. They will surely continue to back him into the next game.
