Some Newcastle United fans are bashing the club’s latest tweet about some ticket information that they have released ahead of their FA Cup Third Round game against Rochdale.

The Magpies have been drawn with League One Rochdale for the upcoming Third Round clash. And the club recently released some ticket information about their trip to the Greater Manchester side.

The game takes place on the 4th of January, with the club having allocated a total of 3,200 tickets for the clash at Spotland. The tickets for adults are priced at £27, with the tickets for young people set at £21.

Newcastle United fans: Is the Rochdale game worth £27?

Absolutely, its ridiculous!

Absolutely, its ridiculous!

Nothing new, pretty used to it

But some Magpies fans are fuming about the prices and the arrangements for the game at Crown Oil Arena.

The Magpies are currently at the 11th position in the Premier League and got knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of second-placed Premier League side Leicester in the third round of the competition.

In the FA Cup last season, Newcastle United couldn’t go beyond the fourth round of the competition. They had drawn 1-1 against Blackburn Rovers in the third round but managed to beat them by a 4-2 scoreline in the replay about ten days later. But would-be finalists Watford ousted them in the fourth round, beating them 2-0 in the competition.

Rochdale had beaten Wrexham in the first round of this season’s edition. The second-round saw them beat Boston United. They were held a draw in the first game but beat them in a replay yesterday.

What do we think?

It is fair to say that the prices are indeed high, but Rochdale’s own ticket prices stand at £25 plus £2 for adults. That is very similar to how much Newcastle United fans would have to pay for the FA Cup game. That is something that comes with supporting a Premier League club.
