A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to Miguel Almiron’s interview with the club’s official website.
The Paraguayan international said that “He was itching to score” but that he was “Not beating himself up over it”.
Should Almiron be kept in Newcastle's starting XI?
Yes, he is still contributing to the team
No, not enough end product
Almiron spoke well, and a lot of Newcastle fans are backing him to get his first goal sooner rather than later.

Loves his football this kid. His work rate is outstanding. It’ll come to him and the noise….if he does it at St James’… will be a game he never forgets even if we lose 3-1.

Other Toon fans, though, are not convinced by him.
He’s got the ability but you’ve got to question the coaches, what are they doing to help him get better in the final third? He got his goal contribution after almost a year, it’s not good enough

Get a life … we need a proper striker

What do we think?
Almiron has now played 24 games for Newcastle and still has not scored a goal and has only provided one assist – which came on Saturday against Manchester City.
However, a lot of Toon fans adore the 25-year-old, who is valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, because of his work rate and ability to get his team forward.
Almiron’s assist came from the left (0:38) on Saturday – so maybe it is time to swap him and Allan Saint-Maximin around?
This could also lead to more service for the often isolated Joelinton.
Almiron clearly wants to score, but it is good to see that it is not getting him down.
He has received criticism from people such as Alan Brazil and Jamie Carragher for not scoring, but if he is contributing to the team in other ways, does that really matter?
