A lot of Newcastle United fans love the fact Andy Carroll has more assists than Cristiano Ronaldo this season.

What do we think?
Carroll, who is valued at £5.4m by Transfermarkt, has played a key role in Newcastle’s last two wins with two assists for Jonjo Shelvey.
One of those was very classic Carroll with a flick-on to Shelvey – who calmly slotted the ball past Dean Henderson to seal a brilliant 2-0 win for the Toon at Sheffield United. (1:00)
The other was not something you expect to see from the big Geordie – as he whipped in a superb ball that Shelvey met with a towering header. (1:35)
Surely that should have been the other way around?
Either way, Carroll has made a massive impact, and if the Toon can keep him fit, they will have a real powerhouse in their squad.
Joelinton is struggling at the moment, and it is good that Bruce has that option in his team.
On Sunday, Carroll looked like the Carroll from a few years ago – a real battering ram of a forward – who on his day can dominate any Premier League defence.
Allan Saint-Maximin, at the end of the Southampton match, went down with a hamstring injury, and that could mean a new role for Joelinton – which would make keeping Carroll fit even more important.
