Newcastle fans were shocked to see that forgotten man Achraf Lazaar hit a screamer for Italian side Cosenza this weekend.
Lazaar is currently on loan at the Serie B side having never really forced his way into the Newcastle side but showed a glimpse of what he is capable of with a long-range strike against Pordenone on Sunday. The Moroccan joined the Magpies from Palermo in 2016 but has made just 10 appearances in his time with the club after various loan spells away.
The 27-year-old has struggled for game time in Italy’s second division, having made just three appearances so far this season, before he came off the bench to grab a consolation in their game at the weekend. It seems therefore that Lazaar is far from good enough to play in the Premier League and the Newcastle board will surely look to move him on permanently either in January or at the end of the season.
Does Lazaar deserve a chance in the first team?
Yes
No

I still don’t know why we didn’t gave him a chance.

These Newcastle fans clearly feel that Lazaar was never really afforded a chance at the club and feel that perhaps Steve Bruce should consider the £900k rated man for his team next season.
What do we think?
Lazaar has barely played for the Magpies and you suspect that he never really impressed Rafa Benitez during his time at the club. He is really struggling for game time in Serie B, but current boss Steve Bruce may well opt to give him a chance if he does return next season.
