A player who has restarted his career with some superb performances. Great to see we are investing in this.

Absolute steal that. I thought Ritchie was irreplaceable but he’s been class

Hope that turns out to be right. It would be excellent business for that fee.

Other Toon supporters, though, are worried that this will be the club’s whole budget spent.
Great signing. Shame that’s our budget used up for a player already in the squad

What do we think?
If this is true, then it would be a fantastic deal for Newcastle to complete – as Willems has had a great season for the Magpies and has adapted to the Premier League very well.
In 14 appearances, he has also contributed to five goals directly and has filled in for Matt Ritchie brilliantly.
When Ritchie was injured, many were worried that the Toon would not be able to cope without him, but Willems has become one of their best players, and if they do manage to bring him in permanently, then that would be a major boost for Steve Bruce.
Bringing Willems in was a risk, but he has proved himself a worthy Premier League player, and Newcastle will be delighted if they can seal his future on Tyneside.
