Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta is said to be close to taking the vacant Head Coach’s role at Arsenal meaning Pep Guardiola will be on the lookout for a new number two.
Club legend Vincent Kompany left the club at the end of last season to take up a player/coach role at Belgian side Anderlecht but with a vacancy seemingly about to come up at the Etihad these fans are urging Guardiola to “bring him home”.
Would you like to see Kompany replace Arteta?

Paul Merson is correct with his comments regarding Arteta but I for one hope that the Arsenal board are dumb enough to take him so we can get Vincent Kompany back to take his place ??

Arteta appears to have been integral to Manchester City’s success in recent seasons and some supporters fear his imminent departure could prove disastrous.
It would be very disastrous.
I really hope it falls through.— InSané Leroy? (@Alexander_keeng) December 16, 2019
One fan, though, can’t understand just exactly why it would be disastrous to see the Spaniard leave the Etihad.
Why would it be disastrous?

What do we think?
Whilst its almost certain Pep Guardiola would much rather keep his right-hand man by his side, he has hinted that he would not stand in his colleague’s way if a job came up that he felt he wanted to take.
Arteta made 150 appearances for the Gunners and the 37-year-old is said to have been hoping to step up into management for quite some time. The lure of a huge and historic club like the Arsenal could prove too much to resist and if a deal can be agreed by all parties, it would be difficult to persuade the Spaniard to stay in Manchester.
As far as Kompany is concerned, he is a Man City man through and through and if he is looking to develop as a manager/coach who better to work alongside than the great Pep Guardiola. It remains to be seen whether or not the Catalan boss considers him as a suitable replacement for the outgoing Arteta but it would certainly be a move that would please the supporters.
