What do we think?
In recent years the Ballon d’Or has been a straight-out shootout between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – widely considered two of the greatest players of all time. Therefore for somebody else to break their strong-hold, they would need to reach incredible heights of which Kevin De Bruyne is perhaps, capable of achieving.
However, you would think Manchester City would need to win the UEFA Champions League in order to give their star the best possible chance of capturing the prize. With the Premier League, arguably, out of Pep Guardiola’s reach as Liverpool continue to run away with it, perhaps, 2020 could be the year the £135m-rated ace (as per TransferMarkt) does what all these fans believe he can do.
