Manchester City player Angelino’s opportunities at the Etihad Stadium have been limited. The 22-year-old has made just seven appearances in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side this season and is said to be attracting the interest of PSV Eindhoven, with whom he spent some time with previously and Ajax.

Dutch outlet De Telegraaf (via MSN) printed the headline and have reported that Mark Van Bommel’s side believe the return of the Spaniard would significantly improve their back four.

The Eredivisie side are said to be seeking a loan deal as they believe it to be the most viable option but the report suggests rivals Ajax are also interested.

TIF Tactics – Can City afford to let Angelino leave in January?

It remains to be seen whether Angelino will be allowed to move on in search of regular first-team football but if he was it’s difficult to envisage him turning down the opportunity to join Ajax who are competing in European competition in favour of PSV who are not.

The Spaniard is currently valued at £14.4m according to TransferMarkt.co.uk and is most comfortable at left-back although he can be utilised on the left-side of midfield.

Given the defensive troubles City have been forced to contend with, particularly at left-back and centre-back allowing him to leave at the moment may not make much sense however with Oleksandr Zinchenko likely to return in the coming weeks – by the time we get to the January transfer window that could change opening the door for any potential suitors.
