Spanish publication El Desmarque have reported that Manchester City officials have met with the agent of Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman has endured a difficult time since making the move to the Camp Nou from Borussia Dortmund and his time with the Catalan giants is said to be approaching its end.

The player’s representatives have reportedly been spotted meeting with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea too. However, this latest report claims City are ‘more willing’ to pay something closer to Barcelona’s asking price but that could be dependant on whether Leroy Sane leaves the club this summer – he’s been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

TIF Tactics – Ousmane Dembele, what’s the story?

Dembele made 50 appearances for Dortmund and scored 10 goals during his time there but more impressively he provided his team-mates with 22 assists. Rated as one of the games hottest young-talents at the time, the 22-year-old has failed to have the desired impact in Spain. despite scoring 19 and creating 17 goals in his 74 appearances for the club.

Manchester City are not short of talent in the wide-forward areas with Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane still at the club. That’s not to mention the brilliant Bernardo Silva, who although he looks more comfortable in a central area, has been known to line up from a wider starting position during his time with City.

Whether Manchester City look to make a move for the £90m-rated ace (per TransferMarkt) remains to be seen, although El Desmarque appears to make it clear that Pep Guardiola would like to have the Frenchman strutting his stuff at the Etihad Stadium soon.
