Pundit Danny Mills has been very honest about his thoughts on Harry Wilson getting game time at Liverpool, as the 22-year-old is currently on-loan at Bournemouth.

When Mills spoke exclusively to Football Insider, he said: “Can he get into that team, where does he fit into that? You’ve got Oxlade-Chamberlain in there, Adam Lallana, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Keita coming back – it’s such a difficult team to get into.”

Does Harry Wilson have a future at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp?

Yes, absolutely

Yes, absolutely

No

No

Wilson has currently played 14 Premier League matches this season and has scored an impressive six goals, which makes him the highest-scoring player in the whole Bournemouth squad above Callum Wilson. Despite this, the 22-year-old has only the seventh-highest WhoScored average rating, with 6.70/10.

Wilson, who is valued at £16.2m by TransferMarkt, has never played for Liverpool’s first team in the Premier League, however, the Welshman was on the bench for the 2-1 win against Burnley, but he failed to feature for the Reds.

The pundit also said: “It’s so, so difficult for these players, these young players who are doing very well away.”

He’s doing incredibly well, clearly he’s got fabulous quality, especially from set-pieces as we’ve seen on occasion. All he can do is keep playing well and let’s see what happens at the end of the season, but to break into that Liverpool side is going to be incredibly difficult.

Indeed, it would not be hard to disagree with what Mills is saying as the winger would also have to compete against the likes of Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane for game time should he return to Anfield.

Verdict

We feel that Harry Wilson should stay at Bournemouth for now; he’s getting regular minutes and is scoring goals, which are the two main things you can wish for as a young forward. Surely if the 22-year-old can carry on this success, then Jurgen Klopp will at least have to give the Welshman some time off the bench, when he returns home. Otherwise, Liverpool may as well sell the Wales international and make a potentially hefty sum from a possible transfer, as we are sure there are many clubs who would happily take him.
