Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy scored his 14th Premier League goal of the season in just 15 games during the win over bottom of the table Watford.

The former England strikers goal ensured he opened up a three-goal lead between himself and Tammy Abraham who trails him in second in the race for the Golden Boot.

These fans have hailed him as the ‘second-best striker in the world’ and even a ‘god’ as he continues to display a ruthlessness in front of goal.

Will Vardy win the Premier League Golden Boot finally?

What do we think?

Some believed Vardy’s best days were behind him, however, the 32-year-old looks as sharp and as clinical in front of goal as ever. Although winning the title with the Foxes back in the 2015/16 season would have been a dream come true for the former non-league striker he won’t have forgotten he was pipped to the Golden Boot award by Spurs striker Harry Kane.

That’s something Vardy will be keen to put right and if he continues his impressive form you wouldn’t bet against him finally getting his hands on the coveted individual award. Despite being the subject of Arsenal’s interests the player rejected any deal preferring to stay with the East-Midlands club and the loyalty shown at the peak of his powers was the icing on the cake as far as securing his place as a Leicester City legend goes.

The second-best striker in the world? That is up for debate but if it’s based on current form there is certainly a case to be made for the Foxes star.
