Leicester City are being linked with Turkish attacker Bilal Basacikoglu. The winger is currently without a club having left Kayserispor earlier this month due to the club experiencing financial difficulties meaning he would be available immediately.

The 24-year-old bid an emotional farewell to the club’s supporters via his Twitter account and is now on the lookout for a new destination.

Dutch media outlet ELF Voetbal claim that the Foxes are amongst a trio of British clubs interested in bringing him to England.

TIF Tactics – Who is Bilal Basacikoglu

Basacikoglu grew up in the Netherlands and made the move from Heerenveen where he began as an Under-17 to Feyenoord for £3.15m.

He appeared for the Rotterdam based club 103 times, scoring seven goals and providing 19 assists. During his time there he won a Dutch championship, two Dutch Cups and the Dutch Super Cup.

In July 2018,  he made the move to Turkey to play for Kayserispor for £360k but his time there came to a sad ending when he left the club due to their financial plight.

Reviews of the Turkish player seem to be mixed but on a free transfer, he could be worth taking a gamble on. According to WhoScored.com, Basacikoglu’s strengths lie in his ability to dribble and his defensive contribution.

His weaknesses, however, have been highlighted as his final product with his crossing, passing and finishing coming into question on more than one occasion.

The other clubs said to be interested have been named as Norwich City and Hull City in which case if the Foxes were willing to give him a shot, you would fancy them to fight off any competition.
