Brendan Rodgers has been talking to the press ahead of Leicester City’s trip to the capital where they will face West Ham United at the London Stadium.

The 46-year-old will need to pick his players up after back to back defeats, dealing their hopes of challenging for the Premier League title a blow as Liverpool opened up a 13-point lead over the Foxes despite having played a game less.

When asked about the demoralising defeats, Rodgers made it clear it was his responsibility as the manager to give his squad the boost they need.

Will LCFC bounce back by taking all three points at West Ham?

“That’s where the manager comes in, just to instil that belief. You’ve got to go back to your basics again when you lose games like [Liverpool]: work hard, get aggression back into your game and play your football,” he said.

“That’s what I’ll look to do, give them that confidence back.”

TIF Tactics – There is no need for an overreaction

Rodgers recently signed a new deal with the Foxes which will see him remain at the club until 2025 and, whilst morale may currently be low, nobody can deny that the former Liverpool and Celtic boss has done an excellent job at the King Power Stadium.

He certainly won’t have lost the faith of his squad in a week so whilst many would, perhaps, try and have you believe the wheels have fallen off at Leicester, there are no indications that is the case. Judging by the comments he made, we’re likely to see rotation at the weekend and that is due to the physical demands the Christmas period brings and not because Rodgers has lost trust in any of his players. In fact, it’s a sign of the opposite – that he believes in this squad and their ability to qualify for the Champions League this season.
