Leicester City defender Jonny Evans has completed 90 minutes twice in just 48 hours, once again displaying an incredible level of professionalism. The 31-year-old was named in Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI for the fixtures versus both Liverpool and West Ham during the hectic Christmas period.
His central-defensive partner, Caglar Soyuncu, has received untold praise this season but Evans’ contribution has been just as, if not more, significant to Leicester’s success so far this season.
After another heroic display, the former Manchester United defender is rightly receiving his plaudits online, with many making their feelings known about his recent performances at the back.

What do we think?
Jonny Evans could be compared to a fine wine, as he looks to simply get better with age. His record of starting every single one of the Foxes’ Premier League games this season remains intact despite some heavy rotation during the Christmas period.
His commanding presence and wealth of experience makes it easy to forget that he’s still only 31 – it feels as though he has been around forever and now we are seeing the benefits of having him around rub off on some of the younger players.
Signed from West Bromwich Albion in 2018 for just £3.6m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk), he has to, perhaps, be one of the bargains of the decade considering how much he has offered to the King Power Stadium outfit.
