Leicester City secured their place in the semi-final’s of this season’s Carabao Cup via a penalty shootout at Goodison Park.
James Maddison and Jonny Evans put the Foxes two goals to the good in the first-half but they were pegged back by two brilliantly taken goals from Tom Davies and Leighton Baines. Jamie Vardy eventually fired the Foxes through via the penalty spot to set-up a semi-final meeting with Aston Villa (BBC).
Brendan Rodgers’ side haven’t been to the last four of this particular competition since they won it in the 1999-2000 season.

What do we think?
Brendan Rodgers’ couldn’t have asked for a better player to step-up and secure progress in the competition with the decisive spot-kick. Vardy has been in incredible form this season, scoring 16 goals in 19 games so far this season.
The Foxes now go into the semi-final as firm favourites and with a real opportunity of going to Wembley for a major final. The East-Midlands club look almost certain to secure Champions League football for next season and a trophy in February would provide an additional confidence boost heading into the business end of the campaign.
