Leicester City have sent scouts to watch Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi according to Turkish outlet Milliyet (via Sport Witness).

The 25-year-old is also being watched by Tottenham Hotspur according to the report and they too sent representatives to Istanbul in order to watch the Kosovan forward up close.

Muriqi has scored nine goals in the Turkish Super Lig this season with his latest brace coming against Genclebirligi last Friday. The player and his club are said to be aware of the Premier League interest but that doesn’t necessarily mean the forward will be leaving Fenerbahce before the summer.

TIF Tactics – In-form striker would add strength in depth

Brendan Rodgers’ side already have a top-quality striker in Jamie Vardy and in recent weeks Kelechi Iheanacho has come into his own scoring two goals in his last two appearances.

If the Foxes are to maintain their impressive league position they may need to add some more depth to their extremely talented squad and Muriqi seems a good option.

The 6f 3in forward, who is now valued at £7.2m, signed for the Istanbul based club in the summer for £3.15m according to TransferMarkt.co.uk and will be key to Ersun Yanal’s side who find themselves just five points off of the top – therefore they would be unlikely to part with the player mid-season.

The East-Midlands club will be keeping close tabs on the players progress and will be fully aware of Spurs’ interest but it remains to be seen whether their scouting mission will lead them to tabling a concrete bid.
