A report in the Football Insider claims that Leeds United have lodged their interest in taking Rhian Brewster from Liverpool for the second half of the season.

Brewster, who is valued at £3.6m by Transfermarkt, is set to be one of the most coveted players in the January transfer window as Premier League and Championship clubs compete for his signature.

Why Leeds?

Jurgen Klopp has decided to allow Brewster to go on loan after he only appeared for 180 minutes this season, and if the Reds want him to develop, he needs to be playing first-team football.

The report claims that Leeds will meet with Liverpool next week and submit their pitch to take Brewster to Elland Road. Indeed, it’s believed that Orta is likely to be heavily involved, just as he was with a presentation to Arsenal late in the summer window that helped seal the Eddie Nketiah capture.

Leeds’ top scorer is Patrick Bamford, with nine and the Whites could do with some more goal threat from their strikers.

Brewster could be the man to provide that, and he could be the ideal replacement for Eddie Nketiah, who might be going back to the Emirates.

Will Leeds get him?

The report believes that Liverpool will not make a decision until they have heard the pitches from all clubs, and some of those who want Brewster include Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Ultimately whoever ends up with the 19-year-old will be the team who have promised Brewster the most game time.
