Everton supporters have slated the club following the way that the sacking of Marco Silva was handled by the Toffees’ hierarchy.
In a report published by the Liverpool Echo, it was revealed that the Portuguese 42-year-old had a ‘torturous’ final day with the Toffees, having taken training and only finding out of his sacking ten hours after entering Finch Farm (via The Gwladys Street).
While supporters had whole-heartedly wanted to see Silva relieved of his duties (as per Liverpool Echo), many were furious over how callously handled the firing was.
Marco Silva did not find out his fate until around 7pm today. He took the day as normal and was only informed that he was sacked around 10 hours after entering Finch Farm. The squad trained as normal before being held-up by Farhad Moshiri. (Source: Liverpool Echo)#EFC

Spineless.

We should have more class #EFC if true then very poor way to treat our manager.

Appalling way to behave. He was a decent guy trying hard but so far out of his depth it wasn’t true but he deserved to be treated with consideration and dignity. He was Moshri’s choice no wonder the club is in a mess if this is the way our chairman behaves.

Was Marco Silva's sacking poorly handled by the club?Yes, there was no decencyNo, it was handled fine |
The 42-year-old manager was relieved of his duties by the Goodison Park club on Thursday night, after a 5-2 defeat in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday left his position untenable (per BBC).
Silva leaves the Toffees in the bottom three of the Premier League, having won only four games in 15 attempts and trailing Southampton by a point (per BBC).
However, many still felt that Silva’s sacking should have been handled in a much more respectful manner, with many slamming the inconsiderate nature of how he was told to pack his bags.
Embarrassing really

I do feel sorry for him the way he was treated yesterday it really wasn’t fair on him

What do we think?
While it was absolutely clear that Silva’s time in Merseyside was up, if the story surrounding how he was relieved of his duties is true, then that is incredibly poor form from Farhad Moshiri.
What is sometimes forgotten in the world of football is these people who are kept on a perpetual pedestal are exactly that, people. They require the same decencies as anyone else and those who do not think Silva’s sacking was handled poorly need to ask themselves if they would like it if the same was to happen to them.
