Everton fans have reacted surprisingly positive following the latest update on Marco Silva’s managerial position with the Toffees, as he’s set to take charge for the Liverpool clash.
Following the defeat to Leicester City, the Portuguese gaffer is set to remain in charge for the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night (as per Sky Sports).
However, with supporters calling for the 42-year-old to be relieved of his duties at Goodison Park (as per Liverpool Echo), they were surprisingly pleased to hear he would be at the helm against the Reds (via Everton News Feed).

Don’t want to start a new manager in that situation. Makes sense to me.

It’s the right decision. Only two days to prepare the game for a new manager. Marco should be in charge for Chelsea game too.

As much as I do want Silva to go, I felt bad for him yesterday. It wouldn’t be fair to bring a new manager in especially with the derby on Wednesday. But with our next few fixtures we are going to be in a relegation battle.

I think he will be charge on Saturday also. Just because of the small time inbetween games. It would be unfair on any new coach to put their idea across

Should Marco Silva be in charge for none, some or all of the next five fixtures?None, he needs to go nowSome, get a few out of the wayAll, fresh start for new manager |
Pressure has been mounting on the Portuguese gaffer for a number of months now (as per BBC) and with results not improving, a sacking looks inevitable (as per The Telegraph).
With supporters almost whole-heartedly agreeing that the 42-year-old has got to leave, many felt that keeping him around for the tough run of fixtures made sense (via Sky Sports).
Would rather have him in for the derby than no one, at least the team might show abit more fight if he’s in charge as they come out every week saying how much they don’t want him sacked.

Said all along, new coach will start 2 Jan after City walloping, get some loans in, have a tilt at FA Cup & aim for 17th.

However, one fan wasn’t best pleased with the news, with defeat already likely in their eyes.
Announce defeat already

What do we think?
While it is almost ridiculous that the situation at Everton has become so perilous for Silva that it needs confirming that he will be in charge before every game, it is the right move.
The Goodison Park club is staring at a mammoth task over the next five fixtures and Farhad Moshiri would be astute not to hand those games to an incoming new manager.
