Everton supporters have fumed with a transfer report linking Mason Holgate with a move to a Premier League rival in the January transfer window.
According to the Liverpool Echo (Live blog, 09:39, 17/12/19), a number of Premier League clubs are circling over a move for the 23-year-old Englishman in the winter window including Newcastle United and Sheffield United (as per Northern Echo and Yorkshire Post).
With the defender having put in sturdy performances in recent weeks and picking up an 8/10 rating in the club’s most recent clash against Manchester United (as per Liverpool Echo), they were desperate for Holgate to stay.

What do we think?
Being only one of three players capable of playing as a central defender in the Everton squad, alongside Michael Keane and Yerry Mina, it will be a top priority for the Toffees to keep a player like Holgate as opposed to selling.
What Everton desperately need are reinforcements, not to be weakened further so unless there is a relatively large fee involved this seems unlikely.
