Supporters of Everton have aired that they want to see the club appoint Rafa Benitez as a replacement for Marco Silva.
Following Arsenal’s clash with West Ham on Monday night, the Spanish manager refused to rule out a move for himself to Goodison Park and appeared to be trying to build bridges between himself and Toffees fans (as per Sky Sports MNF).
With the interview footage shared to Everton fans’ timelines (via Everton News Feed), supporters expressed their desires to see the former Liverpool manager take the reigns in the blue half of Merseyside.

Would you be pleased to see Rafa Benitez appointed as Everton manager at some point?Yes, he's a fantastic managerNo, he has too many Liverpool ties |
However, despite refusing to pour cold water on a move to Everton and expressing that he wants to return to the Premier League, the 59-year-old stated he could not yet leave China due to the size of the project he has taken on (via Daily Mail).
Benitez has been with Dalian Yifang since he departed Newcastle United over the summer to switch the Premier League for the Chinese Super League (as per The Guardian).
Despite the man himself stating that he cannot leave Asia yet, such was Everton fans’ desire to see the move happen, they outlined how it could be possible.

Absolutely. I understand there’s a past to consider, but the possibilities for Everton’s future are more important to me. I think he would be an excellent choice.

What do we think?
Judging from what the Spanish manager said, Benitez will not be the Toffees’ next manager despite him being top of the fans’ Christmas lists this year.
However, as he stated he wants to be back in the Premier League and near his family before too long, meaning this may not be the last we hear of a potential move to Goodison Park for the 59-year-old.
