Supporters of Everton have fumed over the decision made by Marco Silva to substitute Tom Davies for Morgan Schneiderlin in the Merseyside derby.
The 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Toffees’ noisy neighbours has left the Goodison Park club languishing in the relegation zone (as per BBC).
With the visitors already trailing 4-2 in the tie and around 20 minutes left of the clock, supporters were left baffled by the decision to replace Davies with the more defensive-minded midfielder (via Everton).

Why Schneiderlen! I’d rather Lossl in the middle of the park than him

What a joke of a sub that is

Who would you rather have playing in the Toffees' midfield?Morgan SchneiderlinJonas Lossl |
Pressure has been growing on Marco Silva for a number of weeks now, with sacking for the Portuguese gaffer looking more likely with each passing day (as per BBC).
Following the substitution alone, many Everton supporters felt that that would spell the end to the 42-year-old’s time in Merseyside.
Lol Silva trolling with his last ever sub at Everton. I’m actually impressed

I have no idea what Silva is doing with that substitution.
In fairness, I’m pretty sure Silva doesn’t know either.

What do we think?
Making that substitution at 4-2 down in the club’s biggest derby really does make the mind boggle, or perhaps it was just a signal of Silva recognising that his time was up.
The Portuguese manager being relieved of his duties now looks inevitable, as it did before the Merseyside derby admittedly, with his sacking just a matter of when not if (as per Express).
