According to Di Marzio, the 60-year-old Italian, Ancelotti, will potentially resign following the clash with the Belgian side irrespective of the result due to the club lining up Gennaro Gattuso to replace him (via The Gwladys Street).

Should Everton's hierarchy make a move on Carlo Ancelotti if he resigns from Napoli?Yes, he's a fantastic managerNo, he's an unrealistic target |
Ancelotti has been at the helm of the Italian giants for 71 games since his arrival in 2018, having picked up a 1.83 points per game total since then (per Transfermarkt).
The former Chelsea gaffer has a whopping 21 pieces of silverware under his belt (per Transfermarkt), meaning that the Goodison Park faithful were ecstatic about the link.

What do we think?
While Ancelotti would be a fantastic appointment for the Toffees, his track record of clubs managed suggests that Everton may not be on the level that he requires just yet.
His last five clubs are Napoli, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea (per Transfermarkt), suggesting that he only goes for the top teams in any given country; meaning that this move may just have to remain a pipedream.
