Some Crystal Palace fans have launched a scathing attack on Wilfried Zaha for his comments after scoring two goals in two matches recently.

The Eagles picked up an impressive 2-0 win over Burnley recently in the Premier League, with Zaha grabbing a goal. Before the game against the Clarets, the Eagles had lost 2-1 to Liverpool in a hard-fought loss to the table toppers. It was Zaha had who scored the only goal of the game for Roy Hodgson’s side (per TransferMarkt).

The side is currently 11th in the Premier League and after the goal against Burnley, Zaha talked about how his season has just started. But the Eagles’ fans have said that he is doing it just in time for the January transfer window.

Palace fans: Should Zaha leave in January?

Never!

Never!

Let him go

Let him go

The goals against Burnley and Liverpool were Zaha’s first two goals of the campaign. So far this season, the former Manchester United man has played a total of 14 games in the Premier League, also picking up two assists.

Last season, the winger had played 34 times in the Premier League for the Eagles and had played a role in keeping them in the division. He contributed to a total of 20 goals, picking up ten goals and ten assists on the way.

But Zaha’s situation had been a cause for controversy this past summer. He was linked with a move to Arsenal and reports had stated that he was keen on departing from the Selhurst Park amidst the links with the Gunners. The Emirates-based side did make an offer of £40 million for Zaha, but it was rejected by Palace.

What do we think?

Zaha will be massive for Palace if they are to survive the drop this season. Even though they are 11th in the Premier League currently, they could yet fall down the table as the season wears on. Zaha’s contributions from last season show that he can still be a top player for Palace and if he gets going and contributes to goals on a consistent basis, Palace will survive.

If he leaves in January though, the chances of staying up will reduce. Palace have to keep him until the end of the season and then seek a potential replacement.
