Some West Bromwich Albion are expressing how they’re missing former duo of Harvey Barnes and Jay Rodriguez.

The attacking duo was at the club for one season together in the 2018-19 campaign, while Rodriguez was at the club for a total of two years from 2017 to 2019. Young Barnes was there on a loan deal from Leicester City in the 2018-19 campaign.

The club shared a video on Twitter about both of them combining for a goal against Bristol City back in the 2018-19 season. On watching that video, many of the Baggies’ faithful are nostalgic about times when they had both the players playing together.

Rodriguez had joined the Hawthorns based club from Southampton in the summer of 2017 for a fee of £12million. Barnes, on the other hand, had arrived on a temporary deal from Leicester in the summer of 2018.

During his time at West Brom, Rodriguez had played 90 times in all competitions. He scored 33 times in that spell, also racking up eight assists on the way. He had also been key for the club in the Premier League season of the 2017-18 term. He scored seven times for the club in that campaign.

Who do you miss more?

But the former Saints man left the club for Premier League side Burnley this past summer. The Clarets signed the Englishman for a fee of £5million to rope him back to his childhood club.

As far as Barnes is concerned, the Foxes star had played 26 times in the Championship for West Brom. He had racked up a tally of nine goals and also had seven assists to his name.

What do we think?

While losing Rodriguez and Barnes were big blows to West Brom, the fact that they are top of the league this season means that they aren’t missing him anymore. The performances of Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana have been key, with both contributing to a total of 18 goals so far this season.

Matt Phillips has also been important. The 28-year-old has scored six times so far, assisting once. There is every chance that this bunch leads the Baggies back into the Premier League.
